Sorry I don't have a picture of my car for you to see, but I am planning some cheap cosmetic upgrades for my car for when I get back home from Alaska in August.
One of the things I want to accomplish is to make my car's exterior a uniform color (white). I have the stock front and rear bumpers with the bottom sections already painted to match the body, but really want to do something about that side trim. Can it be removed using the same method I used to debadge my car (heat, goof-off, and fishing line) or are there pins that go through the door panel? Also, do you guys think it would look better if they were removed, or if they were painted to match the body? I have not seen the trim itself painted, so I don't know what to expect. Any opinions would be appreciated.

If your side trim is in good condition I would say paint it( need the correct amount of flex agent and a good painter) you will have to be careful not scuff the paint. Most of our's side trim needs to be replaced. so in that case take it off and have the body shop clean up the bottom of the door. This will leave a small step at the bottom of the door. Both ways look good if done right, both need to be done by some one that can paint well. Ask you body shop what they rather do and go that way. They will do a better job on something that they are more comfortable with doing.
