Default please help with carpet removal

1993 audi 90 cs. I've removed the seats and all of the plastic trim and retainers, including the plastic assemblies that go over the emergency brake and the gear shift lever. Now I can't get the ashtray out, and it seems to be holding everything behind it in. The carpet is joined together back behind the radio and air conditioner controls. Can anyone help me with this last step in carpet removal?

Default have you removed the air bag computer?

that's what the silver box is under the ash tray. Then their are bolts on the underside of the ashtray assembly. I did it but I can't really remember how right now. Doh.

I think there's two screws underneith, then you must unplug the harness.

Default Followup on carpet removal

I finally decided it wasn't worth the trouble to remove the whole dash, so I cut the carpet on the passenger side at the top of the transmission hump just under the air ducts. With that done, the whole carpet was free to be removed. As I suspected, all of the sound deadener on the driver's side, front and back, was completely and thoroughly soaked with coolant. I've got some replacement jute to install, and I hope I can remember how to get all of the plastic trim pieces and the seats reinstalled.
