Just the fact that somewhere (Europe maybe) some brat who hasn't turned a wrench in his life is driving the same looking car I spent 1000+ hours sweating over. I want something nobody else has at that point.
I like cars to show some personality of the owner. I'm not judging anyone else's car, just stating my preferences. Some people like to follow...

BTW, mechanics is 100% hobby for me - I can afford to take it to the stealer if I wanted (I wouldn't - I have a good independant shop that is better) but I prefer to work on my own when I have the time - I find it fun. Unfortunately, I don't always have the time.

VIN, as it would still have the 7A, AAH, or AFC designators in it. Everything else can be changed. It's not really a lie if you can walk the walk and talk the talk...

Three things:
If you don't want to see a car like yours drive down the road anywhere in the world, build one yourself. Otherwise, there will be at least one other car just like yours, roaming the earth.
The reason why people do S2/RS2 conversions is to get a car in the US that they could not otherwise have.
You stating that if you have the money, you can import whatever you want is true, and like I said those that do that, and have done that, are not importing real S2 or RS2 cars. They are importing cars that are even more "highline" and/or rare. Why do you think the McLaren F1 was imported, or the 959? People with money to burn wanted ultra-rare cars that were flashy. That makes your point moot, IMO.

I do get your point, I'm just pointing out that your point has some issues to it that are a bit illogical, so I'm just taking things to the extreme ;-) Get my point? Heh.

where you spend 1-2yrs building an eS2, some punk with millions of dollars can import one straight from Germany.
when you have the funds, you don't need to know jack-sh*t about "real life" cause you can prettymuch buy yourself everything.
SO, with that being said why should you allow somebody whose out of your "league" to determine your actions, or make you want to feel that you have something "unique"?
the only people who really have something unique are those that have the ONLY one (i.e. most tattoos, custom built anything, etc)
