Default Porsche 996 brakes on a coupe

I know this has been done on other sites such as the S2forum.com, but all those cars already have 5X112 hubs on them. I noticed a few threads earlier it being stated that RS2 carriers do not fit on a coupe. I believe this will dispell that notion. This will also answer some questions others may have.

I also know that that this set up will work with the 4X108 hubs if you can find a rotor with only 5 holes instead of 10. I used a Brembo rotor because it was readily available, but the Ate site shows this rotor with only 5 holes. Have the rotors redrilled and bingo, big brakes on a 4X108 without the expense of hubs. Cheaper to drill rotors.

I have put this on Socaleuro.com because that site is easier to put pictures on and do a write up in between the pictures.

I will also put the pictures on my picture post, but it will not have the write up.

No no no...RS2 carriers DO fit on the CQ wheel bearing housing. No one ever said they didn't. The only thing I commented on, was that I thought the monoblocs used different mounting points than the 968CS/993 two-piece calipers, parallel to the rotor vs perpendicular to the rotor. It's been a while since I've picked up a monobloc (it was from a 986 2.5L).

Default I thought the 4-lug pattern could not be drilled into a 5x112 hub...

because the holes would interfere.

Default Correct, they do interfere.

He has S2 hubs now, though.

Drilling a 4x108 pattern into a brake disc is "OK" but still less than ideal.

read the whole article. You drill the 5X112 ROTOR to fit the 4X108 hub

Yeah but a cheap, non kit way of doing it. How much did yours run you?

Also, if you do drill the rotor for 4x108, weld one of the 5 existing holes over first, then make sure the mounting surfaces are flat (machine the excess weld off).
