So I bit the bullet and had the Audi dealership fix my power top at $969.99 (Eight hours was for labor, in Calif. that means $90/hr.) When I took it in, I said that they should check the wire harness as I read that on audiworld.com forum. They ran a diagnostic that told them it was a tension bow switch not the wire harness. After they took it apart and found that it wasn't the bow switch, they called Audi that told them to check the wire harness. Lesson learned: being a little more insistent and have them check with Audi before tearing my car apart. If you have a power top problem, don't automatically believe the diagnostic the Audi Dealership gives.
