Proof that NTB sucks.... I took my car to Curry's Auto (yes, the one in the banners)...
They are 1/2 mile from where I work. Great place, they even dropped me back off at the office. Anyway, they call me within 2 hours and tell me that the front ball joint is having problems so they need to replace it. They said that NTB couldn't have even tried to allign it because of this problem.
Now, I took it to two different NTBs 3 times!!! They did not once pick up on this.
Curry's is going to charge me $150 for parts and labor on the ball joint. Is this a good price? They are also going to allign the car for another $100 I think. Hopefully this will take car of my allignment problems.

Re: Alignment seems high...yeah, but I'm willing to pay more to make sure it gets done right
I have spent way to many hours at NTB waiting for my car. Paying a little more now and not having to go back it worth it to me. Plus, I think they have a pretty good warranty on their allignments.

$100 is way to high for an aligment...
The top dollar places around here are $70-80, tops, and the local guys anywhere fron $40-60 for 4 wheel job. Difinately shop around for the aligment...

Kinda pricey, You can purchase the ball joint for ~$42 or so online, then install it yourself- It will take you approximately 15-20min. Tools required:
17mm socket w/ ratchet
17mm wrench.
That's all.
Why waste your money?
I do my own alignments, you can easily do them at home if you have to 3 foot pieces of 2x4's (yes, prehistoric but works perfect). I've ran my tires for 15,000 with even wear off home made alignments.
I also get charged $42.99 for a front wheel alignment at Tiresplus.. (although they've never really had it right on). The front wheel drive cars only the front wheels that get aligned. On the quattro's the rear wheels are alignable...... (spelling)
