Default Quattro vs. 2 wheeler?

I've been looking hard and can't seem to get my hands on exactly what I want. I found a mint 94' 90 CS with 120K for 3000. I'm not doing anything other than daily driving and lots of hwy miles. Will I really miss not having a Quattro? My fiance has a 99 A4 Q which I like to drive but I haven't driven a Audi 2WD. Your opinions please!

Default Advantages of FWD - lighter, quieter, better gas mileage, cheaper maintenance.

Disadvantages of not having Quattro - less traction in mud, snow, and ice.

How are your winters?

Otherwise, they are essentially identical. I've had FWD Audis in the snow and they got along just fine. Would I like a Quattro? Possibly. Is it necessary to me? (highway & city driving) No.

Default There is a reason quattro cars were banned from the IMSA series and were labeled "Unfair Advantage"

Quattros do excel in snow/rain/lose conditions, but they are great for everyday driving.

Default This disproves the MPG difference.

Default cheaper maintenance? Just rear diff fluid, and maybe a few mounts.

Also, quattro got better rear suspension.

Default I guess you never seen what Stig Blomquist did with the 2wd 80, back in the Rally Days? ;O)

He kept pace with the 4wd cars quite well! So much so it suprised Factory Audi, and they began entering 2wd versions! ;OP

Default Its all about "your" personal preferances! ;O)

Some will argue to death, the Quattro is far superior!

Others will say you dont "need" Quattro!

Its all up to what "you" want! ;O)

Peace out! :OP

Stig Blomqvist is also an 'unfair advantage' when it comes to rally ;o)
