I believe this where it is supposed to go, there is plastic type of housing for it but no filter. <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/37962/dsc00937.jpg">
And I bought thisone, part #8A0 819 439A but its way bigger than that housing above. On a box says "Cabin filter"....does that go somewhere else or i got wrong one?? Thanks

I'm showing the '95 to use 8A0 819 439, and it looks like it was an optional thing? Not really sure...
The filter may go under that, somewhat buried. If it doesn't fit anywhere, looks like your car wasn't fitted with the pollen/dust filter system.

I have one. You need the plastic housing the filter sits in, which sits ontop of the item you pictured! ;O)

I went to my local HD and bought one of the filters they sell for the home that includes the pollen, and odour filter built in. I then cut it to fit the plastic housing and used cable ties to hold it to the grill. I then snapped the grill in place and voila, a cheap air filter.

For some reason i can't picture something else sitting a top that grille in a picture. What i wanted originally is just a filter preventing dirt to come in a A/C system and a car. I thought that filter goes in that black grille there???
thanks

Its what I have currently on my car! ;O)
Installed it after changing my a/c core, because of all the dirt down in there! ;O)

#48 = 8A0 819 441 A
Frame, filter element, for vehicles with dust and pollen filter
qty = 1
You may also want to replace the gasket that it sits on? 893 819 165 A (gasket, intake manifold, qty = 1).
