Default questions about removing my wheels

ok noob question, today when i was going to remove my passenger front wheel i got 3 of the lugs loose and one was really tight (i couldnt budge it with the torque wrench all the way up to 150ft/lbs) Well i had to scoot the car over a bit so i tightend up the lug nuts a titch and moved the car, when i went to loosen the lug nuts again i got the one that was tight loose, then one of the ones that i already loosend was not budgeable. any reason why? or how to get it loose? i broke my 1/2in to 3/8 drive adapter trying to get it loose, and now i have to wait till tomorrow because the hardware stores are closed

Default i've done the same thing, use high impact sockets, like the ones used on air tools...

They are much much stronger than conventional cast steel sockets

are you trying to loosen it with the wheel on the ground or in the air?

Default Broken several Craftsman hand tools, including the 1/2 and 3/8 drivers, several 1/2 drive sockets

torx bits, all sorts of stuff. Got some wierd looks with some of the stuff I broke, but never had any issues with returning them and getting new (which are not new, but refurbished to new spec).
