I am doing my passenger outer CV joint. I have read and memorized the tech article on it, and am wondering where to get the allen key to do it, and what other special tools are required. I have the CV boot clamp pliers and a few lengths of cheater pipe. Also, I know that I have to pull the wheel off, pop the cap out, put it back on, then break the torque on the axle bolt. From that point, how do I seperate the suspension at the ball joint in order to avoid an alignment? I am looking into a Bentley but right now cannot afford it (Especially from what I have read about its incompletness from previous posts on this site!). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

hex key or you will have a problem you never wanted. Pep Boys carries the right tool. It should fit on a 1/2 drive ratchet. Breaking the bolt from it's seat in the hub will take a quality breaker bar and socket, don't use anything less than quality tools here. Use RustBlaster from Menards on the bolt , it helps a hell of a lot . When you get the nut off, the axle will just pop right off. Take the entire axle to an automotive machine shop and let them replace the joint. Then just put it back on.

as info lacking as it might be, there still is no better replacement. It is a life saver in many cases and worth all the money.
I bought mine (for my B3 Passat) off eBay for $20. Maybe you could find a good steal too!
