R134 a retrofit?

Buy a retrofit kit, follow directions...Pretty easy. I did it too, as my system was empty (it has that neat "Self purge" function, leak at a seal in the manifold on the compressor).

where did you concect up to? Also, any idea on what year they converted from R12 to R134a?

Default It's all in the kit.

You release the old gas into the air (this is bad to the environment) and screw off th old R-12 nipple and screw back on the R-134a nipple, if I remember correctly.
