My stock radio started sporadically cutting out recently. Everytime it happens, the LCD will go blank and the radio cuts out for a few seconds, and then come back, and it would keep doing this. Every so often when it does this, I can see the power antennae going down to Off position and I have to turn the radio off and back on to get it back up.

Any ideas?

Has to be a loose connection temporarily shorting out the radio - check the connectors going into the aerial housing or the wiring loom. Not sure what car you have but on my 80 cab the wiring loom running through to the back of the car is bent double as you open the boot/trunk, thereby increasing the chances of snapping/shorting connections.
