Default Here are a few options:

The link will take you to the write-up for the bar that belongs to OWDLVR.

I recently made one up... I attended a TSD navigational rally last weekend; first time with my 90q on gravel... only been driving the car for a few weeks.

Sorry for the poor quality, they were taken in the dark while everything was wet... not the ideal situation. Mine is actually 2 pieces, with 2 bosch 225 rally lights mounted on each. The brackets will actually hold 3 lights on each, but I only put 2 on for this rally.

There was also a black coupe there with a B4 front end conversion and projector headlights... custom exhaust... not sure what his name is, but I might be able to find out if you want.

Default nice work Dean!

The only reason why I've put mine up as high as I have...is the fact that I've lost lights to snowbanks before.

Keep 'er between the banks Dean!

So, how did you do? Any good stories from the event?

Default It's doug... not dean...

Ya, I thought about the snowbank factor.... i'm just planning to keep it out of the snowbanks. It would be nice to pick up a hood-mounted pod... but I don't think I can use my bosch 225's with those... so that would involve a great expense to buy Hella 4000's.

We placed 6th in novice at Lanark Highlands... would have been 3rd in novice, but we were nabbed in a quiet zone by the 'QZ police'... I missed a turn in the quiet zone, drove through town, realized our mistake 3km out of town, blasted back in, with my navvy yelling "QUIET ZONE".... lights went off, but we went past the QZ police a little faster than they liked... gave us a 10 minute penalty. Ended up with 16.8 in time penalties... 6.8 would have placed us 3rd in novice.

Now, thats not 6.8 late... there were several earlies in there, and some came from using to large of a TA (time allowance... MCO thing). Amazing roads.... 7 original stage roads from the 1974 ORAC Rally of the Rideau Lakes... had a lot of fun doing all wheel drifts around some corners.... my first time getting the chance to toss the car around like that!

Love how the car handles... needs an alignment now (needed one before too).... amazing grip for all season tires.

We were fairly late on the road (car 24 of 26 I believe), so we only saw 2 deer.... one was about to cross the road from a field, the lights and horn scared him away.... the other deer was already torn apart... workers reported the deer on the road before the 1st competitor came through.... so it wasn't one of us who hit it.

The US audi 4000 quattro rally car DNF'd with a toasted alternator I believe... couple of people suffered bent rims.... one impreza wagon got a little too intimate with a tree.... front end is toast.

Keep thinking that a 20v turbo setup would be much nicer... but I think I need to work on driver skill before I go looking for more power.

Looking forward to chatting with you when you get back from las vegas.... I am seriously considering a skid plate.

Default Doug...Dean...it's so close ;-)

Sorry man. I'm horrible with names.

I'll be pulling the rally car out of storage in about two weeks. I can show you my plate, and how I'd change it for the next design.

Are we going to meet up at Pines?

-Dave
