Default Rattling...

I have a rattling in my engine bay when i accelerate or just rev the motor. It sounds like valves pinging but thats not what it is...anyone else had this problem and diagnosed it?

Default Do you have a manual trans?

If so mine used to do the same thing, it turned out to be the throw out bearing.

Default With the TO bearing...

Is it a rattling sound, like beans in a can? The times I hear is most is when the drive train is slack when the motor is above 3500RPM. Or if I just rev the motor above that amount when in neutral or just with the clutch pushed in (in or out of gear). So far the only way to silence this noise is to put slight pressure on the gear shift or put a load on the trans by accelerating or decelerating. Let me know if these symptoms sound familiar.

Yea ill go with the beans in a can sounds lol. The car is an automatic. I really thought it was my valves pinging at first from cheap gas, so for the last month ive run nothing but 93 in it. come to find out its not my valves at all lol.
