Nightgaunt

Tonight as I was loading the car up with stuff for the garden, it suddenly stalled. There was a really foul odor - kind of like a burning battery smell. I opened the hood and it did not seem to be coming from the battery...it seemed stronger at the side of the car.

Anyhow, it started right back up and ran fine on the trip home. After I turned it off, however there was still an acrid odor.

Any thoughts to what this may be???

Well you could check if road debris melted onto your exhaust(cat area)

On one of my old Audis, the voltage regulator went freaky and it was putting out 16-18 volts and it smelled like the electronics were cooking. They were, but the battery especially.
As for the stalling, mine didn't have that issue.
