Default This

Active speakers do not need nor do they make use of external amplifiers. Their input comes in the form of a low-level (line-level) signal passed along an interconnect cable originating at the preamplifier. Passive designs accept a speaker level signal that has been amplified enough to generate motion in the speaker's diaphragm and thus create sound waves.

Symply put they do not use deck amplifiers and therefor can not be used with bilt in deck amps.

Default i dont know why you need help with this......

you seem to understand that your speakers need LINE leven inputs, so why dont you run line level to them??

if you have THAT crappy of a head unitand dont have line outs, , then just buy some speaker level to line level converters...

or buy new rear speakers!

Default oh....speakers with amplifiers. most of our cars have that (if not all?) <EDIT>

there should be 4 wires coming into the HU that used to be connected (or still are) to a red harness plug. Two brown ones, a red, and a blue. Those are your positives and negatives. The blue is positive for the left, the red is positive for the right. And each brown is a negative for each, not sure which one, so you will just have to test it. =)

<EDIT>
Using this method, you will realized that those speakers are the weakest part of our cars. But its the only way to get it to work unless you want to use up pre-amp outputs on the back of your HU for some crappy little rear speakers.
