Rear Lights Not Working

Hello, I posted another posting on here about 2-3 days ago. I know that it is the wiring between the body and the trunk. I was told that it is a common problem for the wiring to break between those 2 points, and make the rear lights not work, Could somebody, anybody please tell me if it is the thin wire that runs attached to the hinge arm. It only looks like there would be only 2 or 3 wires in the sheathing. Also is the wiring on the right side or the left side. Oh by the way, it also affects my front cornering light, but not the signal. If you might happen to have some diagrams of the wiring harness being opened, that would be great. I tried looking on this forum site, but I can not find much of anything about the wiring of the rear lights

What I heard someone use phone cord to replace it maybe? I think that it would be too thin, I have plenty of other wires lying around... Cat5? Playstation 2 or Xbox controller cord, I bet those would work well, they are meant to bend all the time... (although 7 wires knocks out USB/Xbox 5/6 wire cord I think)

The OEM metric size works out to 20 AWG... This is what I used when I replaced mine:
<A HREF="http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=46580">8 Conductor Signal Cable</A>
It's a bit larger in diameter than the OEM cable due to thicker insulation, but it still fits under the OEM cable clamps.
