My passenger side rear speaker is constantly going out. It's been doing this for about 1 year.
I'll take the door panel off, make sure the connections are are together, pull the fuse out of the built in amp and put it back in. This seems to fix the problem for about a week or 2, but after that, the speaker will stop working again.
If I crank the volume, it will work for a few seconds and then start crackling. I thought it could be the fuse in the amp coming loose, because it seems to stop working after the door is opened and closed a few times.
Have any of you experienced this before? It's driving me nuts having to take the door apart every few weeks.

Head Unit is aftermarket, but I have checked all the connections there many times and everything is OK. Plus, the speaker only seems to go out when I have opened and closed the rear door a few times.
I wrapped the built in amp fuse in electrical tape so it would wedge in and not move around (if that is indeed the problem), but it still is cutting out all the time.

My rear speaker did kind of the same thing. It crackled all the time unless I really cranked up the volume, then it would be perfectly clear. I took off the door panel and checked all the connections and there was no problem. I had to pull out the head unit, one of the wires was loose from the back of it. Works fine now.

everything seems to be ok back there. The only way it gets fixed and working for a few weeks is if I take the rear door apart and move stuff around. It's driving me nuts.

Sounds like a loose wire, or intermitten connection? Ya might check the connection on the head unit, then see if you can get a look at the wires, where they go through the door, and door post?
Ya might consider replacing the wire, for that side? ;O)

sometimes when I turned on the deck some speakers wouldn't play unless I dialed it up then down again.
I chalked it up to OEM/amp speaker combo.
My solution was to ditch the OEM (which I was planning on doing anyway)
Not the cheapest, but the easiest!
