Default Resistance in Distributor Wires?

Ths may be a real simpleton question, but why do the wires supplying the current to the spark plugs contain a significant amount of internal resistance? This greatly reduces the power to the spark.

Is the resistance there merely to contribute to the longevity of the spark plug? Adding a resistance in series with a spark makes the spark really wimpy.

If you added capacitance, the spark would be *much* more energetic. Doesn't MikTip have something like this?

At low voltages the parts withstand the stress substantially longer than at high voltages. Its an effort to make the ignition system have no problems throughout the vehicles service life.

I have Nology wires, which "boost" the voltage going to the spark.

Default I forgot to add.........

Since the Nology wires boost the voltage to the plugs, the plugs only last about 6 months! They get erroded quickly with the higher voltages!
The Bosch plugs go even quicker!

It also lets you listen to the radio without a whining noise from interference. Perf.wires=no radio

Default Does an body have a perfomance coil or box. My brother has MSD on his 944 and says it helps with...

gas mileage. Jacobs also does ignition systems and they had an add claiming 20bhp on a 5.0 Mustang. Though I do not believe in claims, I also know that those cars are so poorly designed to begin with. They only cost a coule hundred dollars. I have not even seen an add for an ignition system on an audi. Would it held perfomance/fuel mileage?

The MSD makes multiple sparks oppose to one spark(three sparks at high revs more at low). Bigger spark does not equal more power, but a better detonation will be more efficent power. blah, blah blah, you know what I am saying.
