Ok well I had a nightmare vacation of being Audiless for a year and am looking to make my entrance back into the ownership, you can see below the 2 cars I've owned in one years time since stupidly selling my Audi. Anywho, I am going to look at a 1988 90 w/ a 4 cyl. Has 170,000 kms, 5 spd, new timing belt, ignition, and heater core. Anything to know about these cars? Apparently it is in mint condition.
Thanks for the help

The other things would be your control arm bushings, struts, brakes. But those things are relatively inexpensive (NOT at the dealer tho!).
Both Timing Belt and Heater Core are fairly big projects, so it's nice to have those done.
Have a compression check done. Check the plugs, etc.
I drove a 4cyl Audi 4000 for 122000 miles without a single engine problem. Manual transmission was great too. Only the "usual" maintenance and sounds like at least 1/2 that's been done.

I was just reading on the Audiworld model guide that the 4 cyl only came with the automatic. Is this true? Or is the model guide lying to me? If so maybe its like my 4000 I used to own, where I was told it had a 4 cyl but it actually had a 5.
Thanks
