Rims...
Alright ladies and gents, i know this has been brought up before, but I am looking to purchase some 16 or 17 inch rims for my 1992 Audi 80. what size rims fit, i dont know, that is why I am asking this question. Any suggestions/links are welcome. Thanks to everyone.

Re: Rims...
16x6 or 16x7, 205/45-16 tire. offset should be 40 to 45mm.
i'd look up that size on Discount Tire...
from Discount Tire...Konig, Fittipaldi, Rage, Enkei, TSW, all make the proper 16x7 et40 wheel for your 80...
TireRack lists three MilleMiglias in a 16x7 size, but no offset...and 1 moda.
i would not go with a 17" rim on an early 80/90 due to the rubberband like tires...

i have 17s, when these tires go out im gonna go to 18s
I dont drive the car everyday at all, last year i put 5k miles on it so its not even a worry for me. Essentially you could probably go with oh say 20 inch wheels and have no prob, the problem is always the width of the wheels. The limit seems to be about 225 width tires before you have to roll the fenders. I have 215s on right now and no trouble at all. Im all for the biggest wheel diameter you can go, i like a hard ride. My 17s now actually have a smaller overall diameter than my stock 15s did with a 60mm sidewall.

Let me know if your interested and sorry for the sh!tty pics

Re: Rims...
yes, i would stick to 16's on the less "muscular" (visually) 80/90. the fenders cannot take much more than a 215 tire (my 225/50-16's that fit perfectly on the my CQ would not fit under the fender of a '88 90, let alone bolt up). also, since the 80/90 factory size was a 195/60-14, you'll start to have a very small sidewall. on a 17, i think it needs like a 35 series. i think you'll be happier with the ride quality, tires are cheaper (usually), and you'll have less chance of bending a rim. but, thats my opinion...

ah yes, for a CQ or B4 car, you can fit a 225+ in there....the B3 sedan is narrower however. btw, it looks like i could fit a 235 or maybe a 245 with the proper offset, on my CQ.
also, the B3 sedan uses a smaller OD on the wheel/tire. on a 15" rim, the factory size is a 205/50 vs the CQ/B4 205/60. that 10% is noticable, both visually and dynamically (to me, at least).

I have 245/40-17, 17x8, ET35 on lowered CQ...
Same wheels/tires shown in my sig. No problemo, but VERY close to that control arm. My fenders are not rolled. No rubbing.
I'll post a photo as soon as I have one.

i figured a 245 would fit on the CQ just not on the B3 Sedan, which was what this thread _was_ about
btw, what rims are those???
