rpm's in fifth gear
seems like my 1990 audi 90 quattro 20v 5 speed seems liek it revs high at highway sppeds, what is normal rpm in fifth for these vehicles jsut wondering if anyone could help me out

Unless you have a different size diameter tire and wheel combo from the factory specs, or a severely slipping clutch, there's no way for the rpms to vary from car to car as it's a mechanically set ratio. 70mph is X-number of revolutions of the drive wheels which is X-number of turns of the driveshaft requiring X-number of revolutions of the motor.

I noticed mine right after the swap, the automatic used to hit 80 mph at 3,000 even, I noticed the xtra 100/200 RPM's after the swap. I have even verified it with the g/f on the highway right next to me in her VW Golf (bone stock) all the way from 55 to 80 mph, we were both right on.
