So, I bought this car and it had the ultra-pretentious RS2 badge on it, and nothing else. This "go-fast badge" was a definite source of frustration and much (well-deserved) heckling...

So, I peeled it off ... and I swear this boner must have used gorilla glue, a welder, and some concrete to put this .032 ounce badge on the trunk deck. (Must have been afraid someone would steal it out of jealousy so they could *fake-out* their friends too...who knows) As I suspected, it took some clear coat and some paint with it.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/110037/audi_090.jpg">
I knew I would have to repaint the whole trunk, or find a suitable badge that made sense. Of course, there really is nothing. I came across a guy who took a Urs4 badge, and sawed off the "S4" part, leaving just the "Audi Sport" emblem. So, I thought this might work...as it is at least an Audi sport 90 Q. So, got a cheap emblem from a junk yard and thought I'd just try something, thinking if it didn't work, I would just saw off the "S4" part. So I did some grinding and filing and got the "S4" part off, leaving the two // bars.

I then painted w/ a matte grey and choco'ish brown to re-create the Audi Sport colors (being the red w/ the Audi logo was already there). So here's the final result. I think it just might work, and I'm sure there's few, if any, like it around. So...it's ambiguous and at least as close to "accurate" (or at least not so wannabe-pretentious) and it covers the very noticable blemish. Opinions? I figure I'd test the idea on you guys...knowing I'd get honest feedback. As always ... thanks for looking at my (much too long) story.

...I wish I had taken more pics, but the stuff he had it on with was no molding tape...it was some kind of jb weld or something. I figured it was left over residue, but the paint is actually missing in those spots.

the shroud has a slight texture, similar to dot matrix, and has two smooth lines across it (usually behind the euro plate...it actually had black mounting tape that was painted over when I got it that made those lines really noticeable .. those were scraped off right away leaving black lines ... but even after a repaint it's still noticeable. So, to make it look less like the plastic that it is, and to get rid of the lines .. I plan to smooth the whole thing out and repaint using the leftover I have from the rear bumper and spoiler job.
