Default S4 Biturbo Engine/trans swap?

Hey; (Newbie to the forum!)

Anyways, i have a 1996 Audi Cabriolet with a s*** motor and i dont want to put the same motor back in it. Bored of it. Any suggestions as to what type of motor would be good to swap into it? I want to put a S4 Twin turbo motor and trans in there but i dont have the proper knowledge to go ahead and do it without any kind of advision.

Thanks,
Scott

No offense, but if you have to ask you are better off letting a professional do it for you. Assuming you are referring to the 2.7 bi-turbo conversion vs the 4.2 V8 conversion.

Engine will fit (with work), trans will not. You need a 2WD 6spd from Europe for the transmission and late-S2 or any RS2 shift linkage. There are a couple people who import that transmission and linkage for customers. The 2.7tt swap is a huge undertaking by itself, the B5 engine bay is wider than the B4, so things like turbos and such are going to likely hit something. It's been done a few times (4-5?) in CQ's. Single-turbo seems to be a better option, a tuner up in Canada has a killer axle-eating conversion...

to my knowledge 01E trans will work, you will need a different shift linkage. OW WAIT, ITS A CABI, nwrmnd that!
2.7t is possible to shove in the B4 bay, but you will need allot of knowledge and fabrication skills! also STFA, i have started a similar thread for a 93 90CS!
