Default In search of a coupe quattro...

My very first car was a pearl white/grey leather '90 coupe quattro. boy i loved that car. those of you who own one are lucky. the CQs have so much charisma!

after nearly fifteen years, i am in search of one. i'm very fond of the red CQs. these cars are so great! any low mileage ones? most i've seen are well over 100K. my 89 951 had over 100K miles but it's currently with an owner who's won plenty of concourse events and getting 375 rwhp! therefore, mileage may not be so bad as long as the previous owners took care of them.

how's the market these days for them?

Default Re: In search of a coupe quattro...

They go from low mileage ones in good shape for about $5k to higher mileage/worse shape for pennys, like $2K, plenty of those around.

audifans.com, even ebay, or locally is where you'll find one.

they're not to much of a pain in the *** to fix, much easier to work on than newer american cars for sure. (i hate workin on my parents buick and pontiac pos's!!!!)

there are some nice ones on audifans right now, a nice red one that looks like its been taken care of quite a bit, 9grand.....
then there are cheaper ones as well ;-)

Default 180K...

I'm in an 1991 80 Quattro and won't sell for less than 4k and I have not done anything to it yet. 350 miles to a tank in the city and 425 highway.
A guy called me and offered me 3thou for it and I told him no. Gonna stick to Audiworld and fix it up. If you got 6thou.... I'll consider.

Default $4k for a '91 80 quattro with 180k on the clock? That's awefully high for that car...

...maybe if it had lower miles, but most '93-'95 90 quattros go for $3k-$4k with less miles than that. And that's here in Colorado where quattro is more desirable.

He's also looking for a coupe quattro, not a sedan.

Default ...but what? No matter if you sink $4k into making it perfect or not...it's still not worth more...

...than any other '91 80 quattro out there (better condition deems more money, but not more than what people are willing to pay/book values).

Even if you pimp it out, it's only worth that to someone who wants all the stuff you do to it - otherwise it makes more sense to separate mods from car prior to sale.

Bottom line, a '91 80 quattro with 180k is a '91 80 quattro with 180k.

Default Mine has 145k, but is in very good shape.

All stock, new tires, RS2 headlights with HID upgrade. I wouldn't consider parting with it for less than 6K. I love the black/tan color combo.

Default Mine has 333k, but the previous owner was not kind to her aesthetics...

Typical DeLorean clearcoat (silver paint) look, door pleather is delaminated, other little things, but overall very clean.
It still runs strong, but after 333k I'm sure it doesn't have the giddyup that it used to. I have been tempted to sell her but just can't bring myself to do so. I'd like to move the car more in the direction of a track car, so we'll see how it goes over the next few months.

I may know of a guy wishing to offload your old coupe; pearl with grey leather. I think it has about 130-140k and is pretty clean...just needs some TLC and maybe some paint touchup/respray. I'll email you if he's interested in selling.

I threw together a website for the CQ; nothing special but does have a lot of writeups...

http://www.20v.org/tonyb
