Yes, buy the one in Michigan! It has been well kept.
That one is mine. Check out the link for lots of pics.
I'll answer all your questions about the car honestly and be upfront about every issue the car has. There is nothing I hate more than traveling to buy a car and finding out that the owner misrepresented the car or flat out lied about it. I have traveled from Detroit to LA, Tampa, Portland Maine, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Chicago and Cleveland to buy cars. I've also traveled to Kentucky and Eastern Ohio to not buy cars. Liars!
What I do is have the owner send me pictures of every area of the car focusing on any area that isn't perfect. From what I see in the pictures I ask lots of questions. Then if I want the car I negotiate with the owner until we reach an agreed price. I also paid to have my S6 inspected at an independent Audi shop. I've never done that before, but this was the first time I spent more than $3k for a car I was flying to buy sight unseen. After the inspection I send the owner a deposit and get a written receipt that states the amount of the deposit and the agreed total sale price. Paypal is great for this! For really long distances I book a one-way flight and either rent a car at the airport or have the owner meet me at the airport. Finalize the deal and drive home. I flew by myself to Maine and drove back in one day. When I went to LA to buy my Corrado I paid for my Dad's plane ticket too and we both flew out and had a great time over the three days to drive it back to Michigan. All the other trips I drove with a friend or my Dad and picked up the car. A rental car is a good idea for these trips because if the car breaks down they bring you another one.
Long distance sales can be done with out much drama, but a good honest seller and lots of questions is the key. I never get past the first phone call with any owners that won't answer all my questions thoroughly and send lots of pictures of exactly what I want to see.

1991 CQ pics

I think your car looks great, but MI is a bit far for me.
My schedule doesnt allow for traveling too far. And I imagine shipping a car from MI would be very expensive.
Thanks for the info. I really appriciate all your time and help.
