Default Seat heater switch light bulb-to-LED fix...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13357/set44_02.jpg"></center><p>
Ive replaced my seat heater switch bulbs (among other switches) about 2-3 times since I got the CQ and got sick of it today. Today, I installed an LED/resistor in both seat heater switches with minimal personal/property wounds. I snapped some pics with my Palm, so they arent great, but I think they get the idea across. (See 20v.org for the regular bulb replacement, then substitute the LED setup for the little-**** bulb)

I used a T1-3/4 1.8v, 20mA, 120mcd red LED with a 560 ohm resistor on the (+) lead of the LED. Had to trim the inside of the switch a little to get the LED/resistor to fit. Generally, not to tough to do and took about 20 min each (gettin the SOBs out and back in the dash was the most painful part). The LED is a little bit dimmer than the indancescent bulb, so I maybe shoulda used a higher mcd output. Anyhow, see pic poster for photos.

PS - Be aware not to loose the roller detent ball bearing...its DAMN small!!

Default you could also use a "weaker" resistor... maybe like a 420.

if you need extra help and LED/Resistor information I just fixed this problem so I could offer help if you needed/wanted.

check yah later

Default Re: true, but that woulda been 2.3v across the LED and the max was 2.4v...

...so I went on the safe side for sake of longevity. They're a hair dimmer than the OEM now, but theyre easilly readable at night; works for me.
