wanted to get this posted before I forget in case anyone finds themselves without AC or who just wants to leave all the AC components installed and drive without spinning the compressor for the small increase in power over the winter. Will also add 20% to serp belt life due to 20% less contact/friction surfaces. Should also work for any/all other year Audi 90 12V's with identical AC setup.

Continental Serpentine belt available from WorldPac and others. But NOT from Audi dealer as there is no Audi application for this length belt!

Stock belt: 6PK (width) x 1863mm
Replacement belt: 6PK x 1623mm

There is no other belt from Continental thats even close to fitting or there "may" be but it's not in WorldPacs computer if it exists. If memory serves they jump from 1590mm to 1670mm with nothing else in between. The 1623mm (1626mm would have been the ideal/perfect length but no such belt exists) is a tight fit first time on but great fit once you get it over the power steering pulley outside retaining wall. 200 miles later it's stretched into the perfect size and is easy to get on/off at that point.

Just wanted to get a post in with this info as its not a matter of "if" it will come up again but simply a case of "when" it will come up again. Now a search with "serpentine belt length" will bring up stock and w/o AC belt length every time.

1993 Audi V6, no a/c. Should be fine with tensioner? ;O)

he was just blowing me off. Either way I wasnt going to buy from him at $40+ even for stock size compared to $12.71 at WorldPac.

I dont know if tensioner on later engines vs the AAH would take up the slack. Maybe/maybe not. I do know the later 12V's got a different tensioner. But heck I would go with the Audi part number length for an AAH application but maybe not from the Audi dealer. Now after thinking about it a little I wonder if the 95 was not available w/o AC?? That could be why the dealer didnt look past my model and into actual lengths.
