how difficult is it to replace your shift linkage and shift ball joint?
i would like tighten up my shifter which is not shifting really nicely, what needs to be removed in order to do this?
94-90q

I can't wait to here this because my shifter is very sloppy and is like it has shifted forward some how. What I would really like is a short shifter but I can not find any for this model Audi (90q). Sorry to go off of your topic.

i like the looks of the short shift kit, is the bearing still plastic or milled steel? 2nd gear ir a long throw and awkward sometimes, to clean up the shifts and make them faster would be sweet. it doesnt look too difficult other then taking apart the shift housing cover to get to it all. i can't see under it, but i will assume that the shift bearing attaches to the linkage underneath correct? i mean it has to, just trying to figure out how just a bearing could reduce the throw and still allow your gears to engage properly. I guess if i bought it with the instructions it would outline it alittle better.
the only thing that irks me so far about my 90q is the shifting isnt as nice as i would like, if this fixed it..100 bucks is well worth that.
