Snub mount! Can I get one for my 90? Where can I get one? Where does it install?
I always see posts about snub mounts on the a4/s4 forums. I think getting one would be worth it. Where do they install to?

MikTip has an A4 snub mount on his 90 i thought. Its from APR I believe...
Its a mount that goes between the engine and the front cross member if memory serves.

APR site...
Try this. Then go to their dealer or distributor section.

http://www.goapr.com/products/engine_mount.html</a

Ya need to make sure your 2 side transmission mounts are good to! Because the upgraded front snub mount will place more stress on the 2 side mounts, and if their old, worn or bad, the snub will show you by allowing the engine & gearbox to move around excessively!

Hey cuatrokoop! Just looking for info on snub mount clearance for my 90q 20v and found this thread. Do you happen to know what the clearance should be between the top of the rubber mount and the bracket? Do I just set it right down to meet the rubber or should there be a gap?

Ha yes! A very old thread. You're a veteran!
Thanks, I purchased and installed an OE rubber type snub mount from FCP Euro and have it installed. The car had been in a minor collision from the previous owner, but I was able to get new front crossmembers grill, trim and headlights from my facebook quattro group. The members of the older quattro groups are so great! I'm very grateful for the help I've received.
Anyway.. I've installed the replacement crossmember and didn't know how close that upper flat bracket or cup should be to the rubber mount. I actually have it abut 10 mm or a little less from touching, but that is as close as I can get it.
