Default so while i wait for my rings...

is it a really bad idea to drive on wheels without the hubcentric rings? i am impatient and want to drive them now.

if you don't get the wheels centered, it will vibrate so hard you would think you wheels will fall off.. BTDT - unless you can center it precisely.

Default remember those free chrome 16s from dlb?

I drove 2 of them with the rings, and 2 without(because I lost the rings). Drove to am AutoX event and back. They were vibrating above 60 a little bit, but I am not sure if it was because of the rings or the wheels were unbalanced :-)

Default shouldn't the lug nuts automatically center the wheel on the hub?

that's why you tighten one bolt and then do the one across from it.

Default They definitely should...that's why the lugs are conical or round...this seats the wheel center

hubcentric rings should only be needed if you experience vibrations...but 90% of the time they aren't necessary. I say put the wheels on, tighten bolts by hand, then torque them across from each other, and you should be fine.

Default They should but they don't, I had this same problem before I got my hubcentric rings

You don't notice the vibrations untill you get on the freeway. When I got above 65mph the steering wheel vibrated like hell, I thought a wheel was gonna fall off, not fun.
