some here have referred to the NA engine. is that the same as the 7A? what are the differences?

and in which cars was the NA used? if i am not mistaken, my car has the 7A, right?

your car uses the 7A...
FI = forced induction (turbocharger, supercharger). NA = Normally Aspirated.
the 7A is a NA engine (actually a 10.3:1 compression ratio, 82.5mm bore 86.4mm stroke DOHC interference engine), whereas the MC, 3B, AAN, ABY, etc are all FI engines.
btw, EFI = electronic fuel injection...lotsa abreviations for cars, it can get confusing!!
interference = if timing belt breaks, valves will hit tops of pistons and break things. thats why changing the TBelt is imperative.
