I have NEVER gapped a plug in my life.
I am going to run these plugs

the book at the store says that the gap is .032
QP runs these plugs in his 12V and he says they need to be gaped to .040
On my gap guage .040 does not fit in the gap..so I guess they are gaped to 0.32

How do I adjust the gap??

that is what you use. Put one of those "u" shaped cut-outs around the base of the ground electrode and bend it out or in whichever you need. Then re-test. Whatever you do, do NOT bang on the table or ground to make the gap smaller, you'll end up breaking something, or screwing up the threads.
