Spark plug wires and ohmmeter

cross-post from the 20V list:

I took an ohmmeter to each of my wires, leaving the plug cap on them. The
plug cap is 5kOhm and the wires are 1kOhm, so I was expecting 6kOhm for the
combination. On 4 of the wires, I measured between 5.9-6.5kOhm. The middle
wire I measured around 15MOhm (yes, MEGA ohms). Is this even possible? How
can I isolate the problem (plug vs. wire)? Is it advisable to replace just
one wire?

Also, how do you get the plastic spark plug wire cover back on? I spent
forever trying to snap that thing in place, but it just wants to sit there
and not secure itself anywhere.

I'd replace all of them (Don't think you can get just one) and zip ties for the cover

It would be nice if I could, $160 for a set! I just dropped $500 on a wheel bearing and new brakes!

How is it possible? Broken connector wire internally. Replace them all.

$160 for a Set? That's crazy talk!
