Default Steering wheel shake when braking -- MikTip, can I machine those Brembos ?

Just replaced front right ball joint and got four new Michelin Alpine snow tires. Still getting some steering wheel shake when braking at speeds over 80km/h. Mechanic said it's probably the rotors and just to get them machined. Can drilled rotors be machined? Sound like a reasonable solution? All other suspension parts seem to check out OK.

Default Here's what I would do. ;o)

Jack up car, all 4 wheels. Place it on jack stands.

Remove the 2 front tires, reinstall the front lug bolts, to hold the brake calipers on. Make sure the back of the bolt doesnt hit anything.

Have someone start the engine, place the car in first gear, and you be outside, watch the rotors turning in first gear, at idle.

See what they look like?

Get back to me. ;O)

think the rotors are the problem; fair enough, I'll check that out. What else should we look for?

Default Alignment? Wheels & tires? Bearings? Maybe........

rotate the tires, while its up on jacks, see if the problem persists?
