Stereo Feed Question....

I am replacing the Famous GAMMA system like most do. Where is the easiest place to feed a positive wire through the firewall without disassembling the entire dashboard? Or is that possible? (From a trunk mounted amplifier)

What you can do for the rear speakers is figure out which leed is the RMT for the amp signal. Then all you do is connect that amp-signal wire of the rear speakers to the RMT leed coming out of your new stereo. Then just connect RL (+,+)(-,-) & RR (+,+)(-,-) for the HU & speakers and then you should be golden. Only problem with this is that now your rears will be louder than the fronts, so you *might* find it appropriate to FADE forward a bit just to even out the sound. AFAIK the rears won't work unless you wire in this amp-remote somehow.... or replace the speakers (bypassing the amp, so now you'll be running the 60x4 or whatever your deck power is). I plan to replace the speakers AND also power them with a seperate 4ch amp that I have. The fronts will also come off of this amp.
There is a grommet someplace on the firewall which is the preferred passage for most Audi owners. However I don't know which one as I haven't run any of my power wire yet. There are pictures floating around in ppl's picposters, and if you're lucky somebody may put them directly in this thread.
Rear speaker install is a piece of cake... just sometimes people get tripped up in the door panel removal (you can STF to find out how to get the panel off.) Several people have done different things as far as amps... couple have mounted them to the underside of the "trunk shelf", others have screwed them into the back of the seat (not so good idea IMO), there are various nooks & crannies in the trunk that would be appropriate for stuffing the amp in, and I've also considered using the sparetire well as a place to put the amp (just attach it to ontop of the tire/jack/etc.) Subwoofers prettymuch just sit in the trunk as per any other car. Some ppl (like me) plan to or have made boxes which fit the profile of the trunk, but for the most part the sub just sits there as usual. I suppose (if you didn't want a spare) you could also use the spare-tire-well..... it's always an option.
