Default Swapping the starter tomorrow...

Anything I should know about?

The write-up on 20v.org seems pretty straightforward.

Default Pretty simple.............

Remove the battery and the tray underneath it. This will give you better access to the bolts.

Default Wish I had read the battery tray removal tip,

I wish I had read this tip to remove the battery tray in my 1993 90CS because it was hard to do the way I did it without removing the battery tray. Should have looked here first,

Was the starter burned out from a bad ignition switch?

Default B4 battery is in different spot. You want to remove the pass. side

engine mount to get the starter out on a b4 pretty easy too.

Default Starter is still functional but the solenoid to starter lead has disintegrated

the starter itself looks pretty crusty so I figured I'd just replace the whole thing. If I can clean up the old starter I will. Core charge was fifty bucks

Default Done.

Car starts much better now. It's a good thing I decided to swap the starter instead of just cleaning it up. The bolt that holds the positive lead to the solenoid seized the nut and broke off, complete with a sizeable chunk of the solenoid casing.

Guess I won't be getting my core charge back.

Default The engine won't fall out.

There's 3 bolts accessible from the pass. side wheel well and one nut on the top of the mount. I would support the tranny with a jack/jack stand that will hold the motor up. Don't forget to disconnect the battery!!!
