Default test drove a 20v today... Limp-mode?

Car idled good, had a dead battery from sittin. No smoke when startup. let it warm up a bit. Drove down the street drove fine, get on to a nice road to open it up, first time on throttle check engine light comes on and the car goes in to limp mode.. Any suggestions?

Default knock sensors? did you pull the codes?

Test drove a CQ that would go into limp mode if you wound it up past 4k due to bad knock sensors.

Default Well whats the worse case scenario...

I couldnt pull codes was just a test drive. The car has super low miles so I still really want it so Im wondering whats the worse case for a limp mode (knock sensors I see are about 130 a pop..) anything hugely expensive and not worth takin gon the project for?

Default Brought the car home, same kind of symptoms (4k rpm limp mode)

Im going to have the codes pulled this week. I couldnt pass up the car (only has 63k miles, and drives like it other then the limp mode). It'll still cruise the highway but if you creep around the 4k rpm mark it triggers the limp mode. I did notice however when the car was fully warmed up, I full throttled thru 6k range with no limp mode coming up, drove great for the duration of the 15min cruise, but later it kicked on when it was relatively warmed up on light throttle at that 4k mark. The truth will be in the codes im sure. Whats the labor time on a knock sensor swap?

Default No idea. we skipped on the car so never had to do it. I'd check 20v.org and see if there's anything

there about the install. I remember it not being a HUGE deal, but we didn't want to assume it was *just* that, replace them, then have some other problem creep up.
