Re: Remove top plug, oil level should be just to the bottom of the hole.

Default No. It can be a PITA! ;O)

You have to remove the drivers side, inner CV joint heat-shield, to even see the 9-O'-clock fill plug! Then your car has to be level to get an accurite reading.

You need the correct sized tools to remove the heat-shield bolts & the fill plug.

Forget checking! just drain and fill it up. Or just top it off.

Default Re: True..depends on your resources/experience....

Plus I take 'the shop' and its lift for granted alot.

Are the 90 heat shield bolts 3-10mm ones? Also, the socket for the drain plug is an inversed 19mm (IIRC).

Default Heat shield has 3 x 6mm Allen head bolts

At least it did on my '95 90S 5-speed this past weekend.

Have Allen wrench (L-shaped) for the bottom two and hex key socket ready for the top.
