Is there anyway to clean/repair a EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve

I found that mine is causing my Check Engine light, if I bypass the valve my EGR valve opens and causes really crappy idle (so I know that is working) I have vacuum on one side of the valve but not the other and I am thinking that it is clogged or dirty.
Any suggestions.

It is the model WITHOUT the temp sensor in it...so it will be in your I.M. (temp sensor)
