Default tie rod end shaft spins. what to do ?

my drivers side front strut assembly is still on the car. the nut holding the tie rod end link to the strut wont come off. it spins the bolt. The only thing we can figure is to dremel off the nut.

Does anyone make tie rod ends that are somehow impervious to this problem ? It's set us behind schedule 2 days. Very aggravating!

Default just spin it off but count how many spints it comes off.. (more)

once its off then remove that bolt that connects the two together, the two being the inner and outer. Then put the outer one on the same amount of twists to get it off, snug it up and put the connecter peice back intot the inner.

Default i think i mis-explained

the shaft that holds the tie rod end to the strut assembly is spinning with the lock nut that holds it to the strut assembly. I am not talking about spinning the tie rod end with respect to the tie rod.

So basically, i have no way to detach the tie rod end from the strut, as i cannot remove the lock nut.

Default I just cut it off. Some say you can....

...."load" up the tie rod and the bolt will stop spinning, I have never had such luck.

Default MikTip is correct

you just need to push the tie-rod end up into the strut assembly.

Never thought of using the jack though...I've always just used a set of channel-lock pliers in one hand, and loosened it off with the other. But then...i've already got the channel-locks right there from squeezing the brake calipers.
