Default Timing Belt life span - Time for a belt change ?

I had post on here a while back, but didn't get a real answer to my question. I know that a timing belt will go 60,000 with no problems, but I would like to know the time frame. I changed my timing belt about 5 years ago. I would like to know how many more years that I can get from the belt that is in my car now. I only have put 31,000 miles on the belt. Anyone know if it will go to 60,000 with no problems. Thank you all very much !!

I think it's 5 years/60k miles - either or - as more than motion/heat can degrade the belt...

Default I read that one should allow 12K per year as a rule of thumb.

So I replaced mine at 35K on my A4 - it was almost 6 years old then

Default Re: Your car isn't an acura or a toyota

I'm with escargot on this one. I've seen cars bend valves that weren't suppose to, and cars that were not suppose to bend them. As far as I know 7A engines will bend valves. Moreover, if you do it a head of time you get to pick when to be inconvenienced.
