Default Timing Question

According to Bentley, when putting the timing belt back on the only thing i need to worry about concerning timing is have the two big holes on the brackets that go over the sprockets facing each other. However the sprockets still spin freely. On the sprockets there is a dot which looks like it could be important. I can't see anywhere to line these up and the bently doesn't specify. Any suggestions?

Default The sprockets have no marks them.

Use the cam and crank locking tools, install and tension the belt, tighten the bolts to seat the sprockets on the cams, recheck belt tension.

Default didn't use locking tools when I did mine, but I got mad skillz...

brought everything to tdc, checked off the rotor, there is a mark on the crank pulley, lines up with a dimple above it, check it with a screwdriver or a small straight edge to make sure you are lined up. I also made reference marks on my cam sprocket and on the flywheel. turn the motor over twice by hand to make sure everything is lined up BEFORE you take it all apart.
