Tire rubbing

Ok here's the deal. In hard left hand turns, at any speed, I can hear the front, right wheel rubbing the fender well. I have 16x7 wheels with 195x50's all the way around. The previous owner had 205's on it but cut back to 195's due to the rubbing. I know I'm not the only one with aftermarket wheels, so has anyone else encountered this problem and how did you resolve it? Cut the fender well a little? I'm going to be putting some better tires on it soon, and the smallest width I can get is 205 so I'd like to fix this. BTW my bolt pattern is the 4x108.

is what some will suggest. I say no. Your offset is off on your rims. What offset are you using? I'm using 215's on my CQ, my ladies 90CS is using 195's and has no problem.

he usually answers questions quickly. What is the offset on the wheels? Your problem may be there. I believe your year car needs wheels with an positive offset of no more than 45mm.
Your aspect ratio of 50 makes the tires 97.5mm tall. You may just need to go with 195 or 205/45/16 or 195 or 205/40/16 to clear the fender but I would assume the issue is with the wheel offset.

Well I should've made note that it's rubbing on the inside (engine bay) and not the outside, so rolling the fenders won't help. Also, I was thinking about some 205x40x16's to alleviate the problem. I'll get the offset on the wheel to make sure.
