Totalled reciepts. Engine swap total came to $2759.71, with some receipt missing. Just FYI

still toying with 10v vs. 20v though (or even an all motor attempt...). ideally it would be a stroked 2.6l (or would it be 2.5?) 20v turbo... but don't know how much money I'll be willing to spend. no idea when I'll actually get around to it either

I did them about a month ago. They are highly modified light assemblies off a very early Scirocco I believe. At least now I can get some good Hella round lights or even BMW ellipsoid projector lights. They have a simple sealed beam in them at the moment, not extremely bright, but they have a better pattern than the stock DOT headlights. The whole thing cost me about $30 to do.

where did you get the light assemblies? a junk yard or somewhere online? What did you have to do to the wiring for hi/lo beam (if anything)? looks really nice I think. I'd put some of the newer bimmer driving lights with the "glowing" outer ring and the projector lights in the middle
if I get some time I'll do that too. I never liked the look of the stock lights.

I just matched them up and it worked fine, if a little dim. I will add relays soon. I thinks it's just because they are not even halogen lights, simple sealed beams. Can be replaced easily though (and cheaply too, just got better things to spend my money on at the moment). I got them from a junk yard called Pick 'N' Pull. pay $2 to get in, bring your own tools, pull any parts you need, pay the CHEAP price when you leave. They sell complete engines for $160 something. And I mean COMPLETE. Everything from the flywheel forward. Including 10v turbos.

I had to modify the heck out of them to get them to fit. You have to just get them and cut/bend/drill them to fit. I can't describe how without pictures, and I don't have my own digital camera.
