does the transmission from a audi 90 ('88) match up to a 200 turbo motor ('91), if not, where can one find a manual tranny for that engine for a conversion.

Only difference is that you have to remove/relocate a brass bushing IIRC. Either way, I had no problems bolting my 3B to my '88 80's tranny (same as yours)

The mounts were bad, and the play that I thought was a sign of trouble was confirmed to be normal play. I have blown my 2nd gear synchro, so now my car grinds into 2nd unless I double clutch PERFECTLY or match the revs and apply slight pressure to the shift lever until it pops in. Needless to say, this slows my driving considerably and I cannot wait to get it fixed.

That quattro trans won't fit his 80 - its an 016-based box with a variety of differnces over the 01A in the 80. It is a very strong box however and can be MADE to work by swapping the shift linkage in the car along with the output flanges on the transmission (needs to be 100mm not 108mm)

What kind of "can o' worms" would I be cracking open by trying to put a 20v tranny in my '87 5kCStQ?
