Default Trouble shooting assistance - A/C compressor shuts off

Hello All,

I am out of ideas on how to resolve a problem with my A/C compressor shutting off automatically. The compressor shuts off when my temp gauge needle rises between the two small dots. The overheat warning light comes on as well but the car is never in any danger of overheating.

My coolant fans work fine and switch off and on. I have replaced all 3 temperature sensors/themoswitches (G62, F76, and F54). This has not fixed the problem.

I checked all my fuses and they are all fine.

I have no trouble codes when I run the minicheck. Also, when reading the coolant temperature via the climate control diagnostic feature, it registers no higher than 90 degrees centigrade.

Any thoughts on what could be the cause of the problem?

Thanks!

Default Yes indeed. Consulted Bentley too.

From what I know thus far, the conditions listed at 12v.org do not apply. I keep my system from shutting off by disconnecting the electronic themoswitch (F76). A/C compressor stays on and never shuts off with F76 disconnected. The temp gauge does not register with F76 disconnected, but I monitor the coolant temp via the climate control diagnostics. It never exceeds 90 degrees centigrade. Also, the climate control diagnostics do not register any troulbe codes.

Could F76 be bad, and need replacement?

Default No replaced F76, G62 and F54.

As metnioned in the intial posting, all 3 sensors are brand new which is why I am totally baffled by this.

Default Did you recently have the system serviced, added freon?

Is there enough/too much freon in the system?

Default Last spring replaced heater core, evaporator and recharged system.

No problems last summer. Just started happening this year about a month ago.

As mentioned earlier, no trouble codes present using climate control diagnostics.

A/C works fine and never shuts off when F76 disconnected.
