Default Universal O2 Sensor

Yes, I STFA (730 entries).

Many Audiworlders use #13913.

Bosch lists #15735 as the universal for '88 90q.

Why = Cost?

I don't if anybody has tried the 15735 yet. Give it a go.

Default Someone did a write-up on universal oxygen sensors and bad gas mileage recently

I think it was repeater but I am not too sure.

Anyways, it boiled down to almost and extra 30-40 miles per fillup he lost while using the universals.

Default No quite. He used a 13913 and called it a universal. The 13913 is NOT a universal.

It's an OEM O2 sensor for a completely different car. Many people have found that it works fine after you clip the OEM connector off. I don't know of anyone who has used the universal sensor that Bosch actually recommends. Now that would be interesting...

Save yourself a whole bunch of time, agravation and fuel, and get an OEM sensor.

Default Hmmmm... but I think that the universal sensor that Bosch reccomends is the same as OEM

but without the connectors. If it's not the same spec they would not recommend it. That being said I have not had a problem with the 13913 or the NGK 4 wire I am using now.

Default Yes, but it doesn't have the OEM connector. That means either soldering or crimping >>>

which can mean trouble if not done properly.....

I've sucked up more than my fair share of solder flux fumes over the years, I can say with a high degree of certainty that performing high reliability solder joins is part art and part skill, not unlike watchmaking.....

In my experience it's a whole lot easier (granted more expensive) to use an OEM sensor for such a critical, low voltage and low current sensor....
