Default Update on crankcase breather hose

Completely corroded! It actually tore off at the base near the block. I'm hoping not to much debris fell into the crankcase. I also noticed a wire coil in the metal tube that the hose connects to near the battery. I pulled it out to find it completely coated with oil and general crap. I took it out and left it out because I don't see how air can get passed it because it was so coated. Do I need to put it back in, or can I leave it out?

Driving to work today and my cruise control didn't work... sigh... like I needed something else to fix. Any vacuum likes that I might have bumped while fixing the breather hose?

That SOS pad thingy is the spark arrester. It needs to go back.

Default Ah yes, the spark arrester... I started pulling mine out, but then decided to find out what it was

first. I think that was the only right thing I did on that project. Mine was so full of gunk as well. Such a PITA to clean out, hours of alternating between carb cleaner and scalding hot water. Couldn't believe how much stuff was in there. anyway, how are you liking it up here now? You coming down for pizza at Burian in a few weeks?

Default Seattle kicks ***, great to be back closer to my friends and not working 12 hours a day

I feel like I'm on vacation working for the lazy B.

When are you guys meeting?

I'm getting some new seats and door cards in a week or so, to replace the dried, hardened, cracked, and torn ones I have. Can't wait.

New headliner and I'll be mostly complete. Here's my remaining items:

Cruise Control <- new as of yesterday, might have bumped something while I was replacing the breather hose

Central Lock Mechanism, just picked up a new one yesterday

Heat Shield repair/replace

Amplified Antenna repair/replace

Windshield Wiper repair/replace

Spark arrestor re-install, lol crap.

All pretty small stuff, but stuff that's going to take time.
