Default update (and question) regarding my heater core situation...

I finally got the heater box free and replaced the core... does anyone have any ideas on how to re-fit the heater box? The core pipes line up with the hole, but they won't go through more than 1/8"- I think the problem is that the studs are not lined up. I will take any suggestions to make it easier to get back in. Thanks so much for your help guys!

Default What was stopping it from coming out?

To get it back in, I'd try to get the studs in first, then try to line it up with the AC side of the box. Again, from VW experience, you will struggle and struggle, and eventually it will just kinda "fall" together.

Default No kidding!

It seems like that's the way with everything on these cars! The way I got it out was to "wiggle harder" Soon, I was able to break the unreachable plastic clips and get the thing out. BTW, Thanks!
